풀이

직접 손으로 트리를 그려보면 직관적으로 풀 수 있다. 역시 이진트리를 재귀 구조로 풀었다.

class Solution:
    def diameterOfBinaryTree(self, root: TreeNode) -> int:
        def get_length(node):
            left_length = right_length = 0
            if node.left:
                left_length = get_length(node.left) + 1
            if node.right:
                right_length = get_length(node.right) + 1
            res.append(left_length + right_length)

            return max(left_length, right_length)

        res = [0]
        if root:
            get_length(root)

        return max(res)

양쪽 자식 노드를 체크하고, 자식 노드가 있다면 경로 길이에 +1을 해준다. 결과값은 가장 긴 경로를 찾는 것이므로, get_length 함수의 리턴은 자식 노드들의 경로 중 긴 것을 리턴한다. 결과 리스트인 res 는 가장 긴 경로값 자체가 되어야 하므로 지금까지 가지고 있는 왼쪽 자식노드와 우측 자식노드의 경로값의 합을 추가해준다. 그리고 노드 순회가 끝나면 그 중 가장 큰 값을 리턴한다.
